ALTON — “Ding, ding ding!” That’s the sound Kimmy Sue Schnarr of Livingston likes to hear. She’s just one Illinoisan who likes to gamble at video gaming terminals, though she says she prefers to go to the Argosy Casino when possible. Either way, she enjoys the experience of gambling on digital machines with big screens — the lights, the sounds, and of course, winning.
DECATUR — More than $2.5 million in tax revenues have been collected by the city of Decatur since video gaming machines first came online.
The Macktown Golf Course clubhouse in Rockton has three video slot machines, which were installed in April 2016. Profits are earmarked for improvement at golf courses operated by the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County. RRSTAR.COM FILE PHOTO
